I’m a Telecoms Engineer, a DJ and I have been dancing since April 2007. After coming out of a long term relationship, I needed something in which I could find and express myself. My sister Michelina`”Chinx” Lecce, who is a full time dancer, introduced me to Boy Blue Ent which is a UK Hip Hop dance crew. They also teach open classes, and my sister suggested I should try it out. I liked the classes but when I came across UK Bboy Champs and saw bboying for the first time I knew that that was what I wanted to do.
Immediately after UK Bboy Champs I wanted to know more about bboying. I began researching it´s history, the foundations, footage on YouTube and talking to various artists to help me get a better understanding of the art. Being a part of Rain is like having a second family and I am proud to be in this crew. Rain and Bboying has taught me methods, techniques and principles that I can use not only for breaking but also in everyday life. It has helped me to become a better person, and gain a better understanding of myself. Travelling the world for battles, jams, cyphers and workshops teaches you allot and opens your mind.
I started bboying late, at the age of 23, and I remember looking at this quote and smiling: “You can never teach an old dog new tricks”. I don’t agree.I say you CAN teach an old dog new tricks as long as that dog has heart, passion, determination, focus, courage, an open mind, belief and puts in the hard work, he can achieve anything.
